Volley started where every weekly social sports comp starts: a group chat full of scores nobody could remember, a spreadsheet that hadn't been updated in months, and someone trying to run a tournament off a printed bracket from 2014.
I wanted one app that could do the things the people running real clubs and real comps actually need. Score a match with the right rules. Track who's improving and who deserves to move up a tier. Run a tournament without paperwork. Charge a membership without chasing bank transfers. Do all of it from a phone, while you're on court.
Volley is built by one person — me — out of Sydney, Australia. There's no VC funding, no growth team, no AI features that nobody asked for. Just an app I use myself every week and a small group of clubs that have helped shape it from day one.
The Founding Member tier exists because launching a paid app as a solo developer is hard, and the people who join early are the ones who make the next year of development possible. If you're one of them — thank you. Your name is the first one in the Founding Members list, and it stays there.
What's next
Volley currently supports nine sports with full sport-specific scoring, player ratings, clubs, three tournament formats, and Stripe-powered payments. The next wave is Android (in beta), more sports, and tools that help organisers run bigger events without losing the simplicity that makes the app work today.
