Volley app scoring a racquetball match

Volley scores racquetball the way clubs actually play it — traditional side-out scoring where only the server scores, or modern rally scoring where every point counts. Best-of-3 to 15 is the default, switch to the first tiebreaker format when you need it. Pick your ruleset, start the match, and tap.

Scoring

How Volley scores racquetball

  • Side-out scoring (traditional)

Only the serving side can score. Rallies won by the receiver result in a side-out. First to 15 wins the game.

  • Rally scoring (modern)

Every rally scores a point regardless of who served. Faster games — toggle it on at match setup.

  • Best of 3 with tiebreaker to 11

Win the first two 15-point games and you're done. Split the first two and the tiebreaker is a single game to 11, win by 2.

  • Lets and hinders

Tap to record a let or a hinder when there's interference or a blocking call. Volley logs it in the play-by-play.

  • Singles, doubles, and cutthroat

All three standard formats. Doubles uses the proper two-serve rotation; cutthroat (one server vs two) is supported at match setup.

Tournaments

Run a racquetball tournament

Racquetball tournaments are usually single elimination with consolation brackets because matches are short enough that early-round losses should still get a second match. Volley handles draws, seeding, and live updates — or use the free Tournament Bracket Maker on the website to generate a printable draw without needing the app.

Ratings

Track your racquetball rating

Racquetball ratings are tracked separately from your other racquet sport ratings on Volley. The four-tier system (Club / Competitor / Master / Pro) makes your level easy to read. Beat someone rated above you and your rating jumps — play down and the gains shrink.
